Ways to Help Rice Continue to Grow

Cathedral and Rice have provided a value-based Catholic education to more than 10,000 young men and women since 1917. To keep our school, YOUR school, strong, we do need financial help. You may call the Development Office at 862-6521 ext. 238 to contribute to any of these fundraisers:

1. THE ANNUAL FUND - The Rice Memorial High School development program secures annual resources to preserve the school’s mission and traditions. Through a program of comprehensive fundraising, we provide young men and women, regardless of economic situation, with an opportunity for a Rice education. In addition, the advancement program looks to the future by providing funds for special projects such as the newly remodeled chapel and the installation of new computers in every classroom and the addition of a building-wide wireless network. Please contact the Development office for more information regarding the ways in which you can give: through your credit card or automatic bank account withdrawals for monthly or one-time giving, at 802-652-6521 x238 or e-mail to cifrian@ricehs.org.

2. SCHOLARSHIP TREE OF LIFE - Our Rice/Cathedral Scholarship Tree continues to grow. Brass leaves are engraved in memory of- or in honor of- a loved one with a gift of $500.00 or more. Please some see our Tree of Life in the front lobby; it is a visible and constant statement of appreciation to donors and helps further the charitable mission of the school. It is a great gift for class reunions to pass on.

3. WILLS OR TRUST AGREEMENTS - You can help us to continue our mission by giving a lasting gift through your will or trust agreement. Planned giving is an opportunity to provide a charitable bequest as a gift to Rice High School at the time of death through a will or trust agreement. Bequests may be made in the form of cash, securities, real estate, or other assets. If you have already included Rice High School in your estate plans, please notify us so we can acknowledge your thoughtfulness. If you wish to have further information, call the development office as well as your attorney or financial advisor.

4. INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARSHIPS - in memory of students, teachers and other individuals connected with Rice/Cathedral. The Development office has a list of scholarships.

5. A GIFT OF STOCK - Please call us to let us know of your intentions. Then, simply call and ask your broker to make the proper arrangements with us to transfer any stock benefits you wish to donate.

6. DEDICATION OF TREES - To beautify the school, and as a new fundraiser, Rice has had beautiful maple trees planted on the green in front of the school. A plaque will be placed on the front of the high school listing the names of remembered classmates or loved ones.
