As I sit down to write this message as President of the Rice/Cathedral Alumni Association, I find myself reflecting upon my good fortune to be a part of the Rice/Cathedral Family. Most recently I had the opportunity to attend the Snowball Legacy Gala and to participate in the honoring of Rice/Cathedral alumni, faculty, parents and friends, who have so generously contributed to the growth of Rice/Cathedral. These distinguished people have set examples that I can only hope to emulate one day.
I am particularly proud to be the daughter of an honored Cathedral alumnus, Wilfred L. Thabault, MD, class of 1939. Through his examples of generosity, kindness and devotion to God, he has instilled onto me the value of a catholic education. Furthermore, he has encouraged me to become an active member of the Rice/Cathedral Family so that others after me will have the same opportunity to experience the excellence in education at Rice.
As President of the Rice-Cathedral Alumni Association I encourage my fellow alumni to reflect upon the opportunities that Rice has given to you. As the Alumni Association continues to grow, we welcome your participation in our events and we encourage you to support our future alumni.
We look forward to an active year and we are now in the process of planning our 3rd Annual Rice Cathedral Alumni Association Golf Tournament.
In closing, I encourage the Rice/ Cathedral Family to thank God for our blessings and to consider those who are less fortunate. On behalf of the Rice/Cathedral Alumni Association, I would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to all servicemen and women and to our fellow alumni serving our country. We wish you peace and thank you for protecting our freedom.
Sincerely,
Bridget Thabault '80
