TRANSCRIPT - Grades are entered as earned.

CUMULATIVE AVERAGE - Computed at the end of each semester using the final grades with any appropriate weight as described in C. below. Driver Education and Physical Education and pass/fail courses are not included in calculation.

WEIGHTED COURSES - Rice offers a number of courses that, due to their difficulty, are weighted in the calculation of cumulative average and rank in class. Advanced Placement (AP) courses are weighted l.l0 and Honors courses l.05.

CLASS RANK - Class rank is based on a student's cumulative average. Cumulative average is computed at the end of each semester, using semester or final grades that have been adjusted to reflect weighted courses. Class rank for juniors and seniors will also be computed at the end of the first semester.
